On April 29, 2016, Monaco will show itself in a never before seen light, as it celebrates its first ever Nuit Blanche. The brainchild of well-known art critic and co-publisher of Frieze magazine, Jörg Heiser, Nuit Blanche promises a series of ambitious and unique aesthetic experiences, produced by a select group of internationally-acclaimed artists.
Using the streets, the sea and the sky, the whole of Monaco will be transformed into a stage of spectacular choreographed events, involving planes, boats, music and even horses, in an experience that goes beyond preconceived cultural notions of the Principality.
Employing the theme ‘The pleasure of discovery’, Heiser and his renowned crew will attempt to capitalise on Monaco’s unique ambience, pushing boundaries and imaginations using the mediums of film, music and dance.
Highlights are set to be plentiful. Doug Aitken (USA) will be presenting an innovative sky writing concept over the beaches of Monaco, while Amsterdam-based artist Gabriel Lester has created a range of wood and metal wind harps (Vayu-Vata ) along the Walk of Champions producing otherworldly sounds.
For the party animals amongst you, the festivities will continue well into the next morning as DJ Oldboy, DJ Malcolm and DJ Orestt take to the decks at the Auditorium Rainier III with an Electro Party to close this first edition of the Nuit Blanche in Monaco .
So wherever you in the Principality on April 29, head out into the night and prepare to be taken on artistic journey filled with wonder and surprises.
